<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://www.bestbuy.com/zunehd' target='_blank'>http://www.bestbuy.com/zunehd</a><br /><br /></div><p><em>"Zune® is partnering with Best Buy to showcase the new Zune HD portable digital media player that will be releasing this Fall. Zune Reps will be in select Best Buy stores on August 22 and 23 demoing Zune HD and answering customer questions. This event will be the first time the Zune HD will be demonstrated in store for public viewing, so come by and check it out!"</em></p><p><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/resizer/thumbs/size/600/zt/auto/1250279618.usr307.jpg" style="border: 1px solid #d2d2bb;" /></p><p>Circle the date on your calendars! August 22 & 23 will be your first opportunity to check out a Zune HD in the flesh. Or I guess in the metal and silicon. The Zune HD is a pretty huge step for the Zune line. After three years of only one significant change in form, we're really going to see a huge step forward with the HD. Aside from the slim form factor, the beautiful screen on the HD looks to be pretty incredible.</p><p>This should be some good publicity having an in-store demo at Best Buy. I know from talking to people that there is still a very negative perception of the Zune that the first design caused. Its a shame since the current models are very nice themselves. I know I love my Zune 80! So remember, if you want to see the Zune HD before it launches, get out to Best Buy next weekend.</p>

How do we know which stores in the select cities will be participating?

This is an awesome looking device, I need some ideas of how I would use it though, my Zune 120 is giving me the "Zune Full" message every other sync now and I'm having difficulty visualising how just 32 would work.
My music listening styles are Shuffle All, and Podcast.

And not even close to any major parts of the City - but 4-5 in other areas and 3 in San Francisco - (LA pop 2 million - SF pop 500,000).
When they asked John Dillinger why he robbed banks he said "Becasue that it where all the money is"... Micro-Soft needs to focus more on the big cities -

I was hoping you weren't as right as I feared. But you're more than right! Who the hell picked those LA areas...

I feel the same way. I could pull the video off my Zune 80 and probably be under the max capacity of a Zune HD but just barely. (Though I do have a lot of video so maybe I'm wrong)
I really want the Zune HD but I need to make sure it will carry all the music I want. A 64 GB option is exactly what I need really...

I just checked the stats on my Zune80.
32.42GB Used
25.83GB Music
70.15MB Pictures
1.80GB Podcasts
138.41MB Channels
3.72GB Audiobooks
3.99GB Reserved Space
I'm thinking I could pare down the music that I carry. And be able to work with a 32GB ZHD. I figure worst case if there is a song or artist I want to hear, I can pull it from the Marketplace wirelessly. I suppose that's the benefit of having the ZunePass.
I mostly listen to Audiobooks and Podcasts these days anyway. Hopefully I will eventually get a better Audible player and a good eBook reader on the ZHD.
Of course if I purchase the 32GB only to have the 64 come out 2 months later, I will be upset.
I think I'll be visiting the Best Buy in Laural MD this Saturday.

Its hard for me to tell since I'm still at work. But I have 5956 songs on my Zune. I'm guessing that's taking up a lot of space! Now that I'm used to having my whole collection always available I don't think I'd want to go back to having to shuffle music around

14942 right now, it ticks up on New Music Tuesdays and drops daily until the next Tuesday unless friends start recommending things.
80+ GB music, ~3-5 podcasts & video podcasts + pics and regular videos 0.00 reserved space I could probably make a 64 work, the Zune 80 took about a year to fill up, the 120 not so much.
I too am used to having all my music at my fingertips. Especially when driving, exercising, working or shopping, anything where I need music to fit my mood.

I wonder how much the OS will reserve. And if they introduce Apps...
