It looks like a slick interface, but now AT&amp;T has come out with their GPS and turn by turn app. Free to download but $9.95 US per month to subscribe to, you will have paid for the upcoming $99.95 US TomTom system in about 10 months if you go the AT&amp;T route (that is if TomTom doesn't change the price they announced at WWDC). This may be preferable based on how the two apps compare, but we won't know that until the TomTom version is released. We do know that the AT&amp;T version doesn't store maps, instead it downloads them as you need them so this could be a problem if you are in an area with no coverage. I believe the TomTom version will come with downloadable maps for various areas. The AT&amp;T version also does not come with the cool charging/car kit adapter, so TomTom is ahead of the game in two areas in my opinion, at least for now.&nbsp;</p>

I hate to be blunt (actually, no I don't) but who in the hell is going to pay $9.99 a month for nav when you can buy a damn good GPS for $150?

What's that saying about a fool, his money, and an AT&T account?

I didn't think Tom Tom had yet announced the price for the iPhone app. I don't see it on the site and don't remember them mentioning it in the demo at WWDC, though I may have missed it.

At $100 it's a borderline rip off. I can get Tom Tom's 130s (spoken directions) on Amazon for $108. They save all the hardware costs and yet I only save eight bucks? It needs to cost half that, especially if they want people to buy the hardware cradle accessory.

What's that saying about a fool, his money, and an AT&T account? :rolleyes:Well, you can add and drop the feature from your AT&T account at will. So if you only need a GPS occasionally (and are going to be in a metro area) then $10 once in a while is cheaper and easier to travel with than a dedicated GPS.
