HTC Snap Will be T-Mobile Dash 3G

I have the original T-Mobile Dash and I must say this one looks like a winner. I'm not yet sure what I think about the orange key theme but overall a much improved design over the original. I would have preferred to see Windows Mobile 6.5 instead of 6.1, but hopefully T-Mobile will have planned for that when the time comes. I think this one will do well for T-Mobile. Kind of has the BB Bold and Samsung Jack look to it. So...is this your next phone?</p>

I just excited to see that this one doesn't have the "A" key in the wrong place...I wonder if this version of the phone will support all the North American 3G frequencies, or just the one that T-Mobile uses?

It would've been the perfect phone if it had UMA. Also, no Inner Circle key. (Is the feature even there?) HTC and T-Mobile blew it.

Hmm. T-Mobile replaced the Inner Circle key with something else...but I can't make out what that image is. So you use UMA I guess? I've never known anyone that has used it before...you find it useful?

Unfortunately, UMA has been limited to BlackBerrys and a couple of Nokia and Samsung low-end dumbphones. The only Windows phone with UMA is the Shadow 2009. To me the Shadow is the perfect backup phone but not good enough for an everyday phone (SureType sucks).

UMA is great, sometimes essential in places T-Mobile gets little or no signal, which is why I use UMA inside my apartment. UMA is also a saver when traveling internationally. On UMA-enabled smartphones, you can turn off the cellular radio and leave Wi-Fi on, so you can make and receive UMA calls (which are treated by T-Mobile as domestic calls anywhere), instead of paying international roaming fees.

I was wondering what T-Mobile would do with the "My Circle". Especially in the face of their "My Favs" brand. Perhaps they just rebranded HTC's implementation?

I have seen this new HTC Dash everywhere. It is all over the net and based on all the reviews it looks like it will be a thumbs up for windows mobile and HTC once again. The HTC and windows mobile partnership has been a very good one for sure.

I just recenlty picked up a Samsung Jack as a "backup" phone. I haven't even thought about my HTC Touch Dual. Granted it was giving me problems, but I thought that I would miss the touch screen more than I do.

Perhaps I belong in the standard world after all.

I've been more of a "standard" guy for years now, and for me, the speed, stability, and "getting work done" factor is much, much higher on the standard devices. Sure, it's less flashy, and there are fewer apps, but I don't care too much about that...
