Much the same as me - I keep checking - no luck yet as of 13.50! Come on O2!

The Guardian newspapers tech twitter says 10am California time. Not sure how reliable that is though.

10am Pacific makes sense. Everything else (WWDC, for example) tends to start at that time. It's gonna be a long morning.:D

Whatever the launch time turns out to be, doesn't mean we won't keep furiously clicking the "Check for Update" button until it drops. :-P

O2 are telling customers in the UK it will be available after 6pm UK time - that ties in with the 10am California time thing.

Good to know but odd. Last time I updated I did it first thing in the morning on the day of the release. Sign of the things to come when Steve Jobs is not around???

Perhaps they want to know that online call centers are up and ready for the calls that will come in.

A poster on MacRumors claims that Apple Support just told him that "the 3.0 update will be released at 12 noon in your local time zone".

That would seem odd to me that iTunes would check your local time zone before allowing a download link....

And even odder when it is nearly 1600 here in the UK and we haven't seen anything :(

My hand is starting to ache from clicking the damn button. Are we all that obsessed?

And can you imagine what the update is going to be like to download when it does hit? I hope their CDN is properly load balanced! :D

Upgrade done. Worked like a charm. everything is right where I left it, all my stuff is on it, and basically it's back the way it was. Checking out all the new fun stuff now.

Cut Copy and Paste! woo hoo! I'm really waiting to try out the stereo bluetooth, that's a BIG one for me. Hopefully tomorrow we'll see the XM SatRad application, as well.

Lucky one! I keep getting an error message about the "iPhone activation server" being temporarily unavailable....
Great job Apple; as usual they got the servers clogged.
And people keep talking about the beauty of the "Cloud".... yes sure.

Downloaded and installed like a charm - all done by 18.30 UK time. And what I really like - being an ex WM user is with Apple you get a mobile that actually gets a ROM update (I've now had three on my iPhone) and doesn't then also require you to reinstall all your applications and re-set up all your settings. Microsoft really do need to learn this lesson when they eventually get around to releasing WM7 - by which time we will no doubt be expecting Apple 3.2 - or even 4.0!

Upgrade went without a hitch! I have to admit I was worried about my apps, pics, etc. - They were all intact after the install completed. I was a very happy camper!!! :-)

I've upgraded 3 iPhones so far (one was done last week using the Gold Master seed which apparently is the same one released yesterday), and all worked without a hitch. I decided to go ahead and Restore them all and then recover from backup rather than just try the Update in place (which also works based on my experience with the beta builds)- takes longer since you have to resync all your media, but it's kind of like defragmenting your hard drive: I think it helps get rid of weird issues.

2 complaints:
1. The AutoLock "Never" option disappears as soon as you enable an Exchange account
2. They buried the Fetch New Data setting one level deeper under Mail, Contacts, Calendars making it just that much harder to change it (which I do at least twice daily since I want push on during the day but want all push & fetch disabled at night).

Exchange requires a mandatory lock on the phone; it happens with previous release of the iPhone too.
I am not sure if it was a requirement introduced by Exchange 2007 or previous releases had it too.

Huh? What does this have to do with how long the phone can stay awake without going to sleep? And I've been using Exchange with iPhone OS 2 since July 2008 and using the "Never" setting every day. With iPhone OS 3 the "Never" setting disappears (at most you can set your device to stay awake for 5 minutes) when using Exchange. Clearly this is a bug, as Exchange has never had this problem before (and I've used both Exchange 2003 and 2007 over the past year with OS 2).
