The awards were designed to recognize some of the best iPhone and Mac software developers from all over the world. As can be expected, the competition was fierce, but someone has to win."</em></p><p><em><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/resizer/thumbs/size/600/at/auto/1244662683.usr105634.jpg" /></em></p><p>Apple had five categories for their Design Award: OS X Leopard Developer, iPhone Developer, iPhone Student App, OS X Student App and iPhone OS 3.0 Beta App. The iPhone Developer category, for example, had five winners: <a href="http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=309327900&mt=8" target="_blank">MLB At Bat 2009</a>, <a href="http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=312231322&mt=8" target="_blank">Postage</a>, <a href="http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=307196801&mt=8" target="_blank">Topple 2</a> and <a href="http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=296415944&mt=8" target="_blank">Tweetie</a>. I have got to agree with the MLB win, that is a great program. I have only used one of the others, Tweetie, very little since I keep going back to <a href="http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=286756410&mt=8" target="_blank">Twitterfon</a> for my main twitter client on the iPhone. The winners received a nice prize package including a 15-inch MacBook Pro, 30-inch Apple Cinema Display, iPhone 3G S and some other very nice items. You can get a list of the other award winners and a brief description of them at the WWDC Apple Design Awards <a href="http://developer.apple.com/wwdc/ada/" target="_blank">site</a>. </p><p><p> </p></p>
