<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://www.ifoapplestore.com/db/2009/06/04/apple-stores-their-leader-win-awards/' target='_blank'>http://www.ifoapplestore.com/db/200...der-win-awards/</a><br /><br /></div><p><em>"An international retail industry group has awarded Apple and Sr. V-P Retail Ron Johnson its highest honors for 2009, citing the company's products, customer service and fresh approach to retailing."</em></p><p><em><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/resizer/thumbs/size/600/at/auto/1244139923.usr105634.jpg" /></em></p><p>According to the World Retail Congress <a href="http://www.worldretailcongress.com/" target="_blank">website</a>, they were <em>"launched in 2007 the Congress has become the annual platform for the most senior executives within the retail industry to come together to share best practice, make lasting business contacts and exchange ideas on the most crucial global issues." </em>So this is an award at the executive level, not so much for the products as it is for the process. Regardless, its nice for Apple to be recognized as "Retailer of the Year" at this yearly conference. The other finalists for this award were Aldi, Pao de Acucar Group, Fast Retailing, Primark and Wal-Mart. I recognize Wal-Mart, not sure on the other companies but it is a "world" conference. </p><p> </p>
