Macworld Senior Editor Dan Frakes covers a couple of these each week on the Mac Gems Weblog, but there aren't enough weeks in the year for him to cover them all. So each year, we go through our ever-growing list of potential Gems and put together, with the help of other Macworld staff and contributors, a special summer Gems event. (You may remember last year's "Summer of Mac Gems"?)"

Through the end of June, Macworld is having what they call "GemFest 2009", a celebration of sorts of the cool programs they find and publish at their MacGems Weblog. They plan on having a wide variety of programs from simple to complex, and promise they will have something for everyone. The programs they feature will be compiled for the August 2009 issue as part of a "Mac Gems" feature (what else would they call it).
