The price cut would underscore the pressure AT&amp;T and Apple are under to boost iPhone sales."</em></p><p><img height="271" src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/resizer/thumbs/size/600/at/auto/1241750156.usr18053.jpg" width="202" /></p><p>This sounds more like strategic speculation than some kind of plan from AT&amp;T but it still seems like a good one.&nbsp; As it is, AT&amp;T's data plans are a bit high on the price scale; I'd welcome a $20 a month reduction in my bill!</p>

Always sounds bad to say the iPhone data plan is $69. It really isn't just a data plan. You get voice with that. You just can't get an iPhone without a data plan. (and why would you want one :rolleyes: )

So if you think of it like a standard phone with a $39 voice plan (about the cheapest you can get) + a typical $29 unlimited data plan, you wind up paying about the same for any other phone with data as you do the iPhone.

Actually my (wife's) iPhone is pretty cheap. It is really only costing about $30, as it is a $10 line add to a family plan, + $20 for the data.

Cool that they might be lowering the rate, I'll keep an eye on that as they generally will adjust your bill, if you ask. They don't just drop everyone with an iPhone plan automatically ;)
