Additionally, the BLOBbox brings multimedia content and social networking to people who are averse to using computers and mobile devices for accessing the Internet. In short, the BLOBbox blends the traditional characteristics of broadcast TV with new Web TV possibilities."</em></p><p><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/resizer/thumbs/size/600/dht/auto/1241450276.usr147.jpg" style="border: 0;" /></p><p>Maybe I'm getting jaded, but I have a hard time getting excited about the ever-growing population of network connected set-top boxes.&nbsp; My initial reaction to the BLOBbox is that it's just another network connected box to sit alongside the TiVo, VUDU, and Roku.&nbsp; It's a lofty goal to bring "multimedia content and social networking to people who are averse to using computers" but haven't we heard that before?&nbsp;I mean, if you are averse to using a computer, are you going to have a home network to plug this thing into?&nbsp; I'd love to be proved wrong, but I'm not holding my breath.</p>

Hi, I just started a BLOG about my BLOBbox, I want to describe the possibilities of the iptv set-top box with an open business model.
I'm confident that the open business model will grant me more and more content, and I will be able to choose from many hi-quality channels (free, hopefully).
I must say that I use the computer by the day and I use the BLOBbox by night, because a media center conceived to work with your TV it's an user experience that is perfect for my sofa-watching...
Here's my BLOG about the BLOBbox (http://www.e-basel.it/blobbox/en), if you are interested.

I'll keep an eye on your blog to see more about the box.

I must say that I use the computer by the day and I use the BLOBbox by night

However, this doesn't build confidence that this is the device that will transform things for the computer averse. Not that it means the BLOBbox isn't a good device. It's just doesn't sound that revolutionary.

Hi, thank you for your answer! I agree with you about the fact that the BLOBbox advanced functionalities aren't a revolution in the computer arena. What I think could be more interesting is seeing "computer averse" people using those functionalities. I mean, my mom that watches an internet channel on her TV is a part of revolution, the other part is that program beeing diffused using internet by normal people. Not by the usual broadcaster!
