It's become quite clear over the last several months that Apple is ready to bridge the mobile computing gap, with plans to develop a device that fits somewhere in between the iPhone and the MacBook."</em></p><p><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/resizer/thumbs/size/600/at/auto/1241055055.usr18053.jpg" style="border: 1px solid #d2d2bb;" /></p><p>Of course, CNN's proof amounts to the speculation of other news organization whose sources include speculation of other sources.&nbsp; In other words, there is no primary source for any of these stories aside from the speculation of other news agencies.&nbsp; It's one big echo chamber.</p><p>Now, that being said, if a new device is announced I will absolutely buy it; no questions asked, because that's how I roll.&nbsp; Apple says "jump" and I say "Do you take credit cards?"&nbsp; I just wish the news agencies would shut up already because if something like a tablet isn't announced at WWDC, the next thing will be the news agencies ripping into Apple for not fulfilling their rumors.</p><p>Why don't they do this kind of stuff with Dell?</p><p>(Rhetorical question, folks.)</p>

If Apple doesn't announce a tablet . . . I'll be a breaking news story on CNN. I'll kill every PC that crosses my path :D

They don't do this with Dell because Dell doesn't have the level of secrecy and paranoia that Apple does. Also, how much fun can you have speculating about what the next low-margin, high-volume cloned product will be? I can see it now:

"CNN Headline News: Dell is slated to release a BLACK desktop computer just in time for summer. It looks just like the HPs and Gateways (I've heard Gateway is still around), and has almost the exact same specifications, but it's like DUDE, YOU'RE GETTING A DELL!"

Well you were way off..it was in Green, and Red, and White, and Bamboo, and a bunch of other colors. Finally I can color coordinate my PCs with the room it's in.
