App Store Hits the 1 Billion Mark

Wait a minute . . . I thought that they were going to award a prize to anybody who purchased an app, or who entered the contest separately, rather than to the one person who actually downloaded the billionth app?

That is what I thought as well, they even had an online entry form if you didn't want to buy an app. Perhaps they are going to have more than one winner?:confused:

Yep, says clearly in the notice (http://www.applethoughts.com/news/show/93346/are-you-going-to-be-the-billionth-customer.html) from the apple site that you can be entered by buying anything from the store or go to another part of the Apple site and enter with a form. Sure sounds like this kid won by downloading the billionth app though, so either the article is wrong or the Apple announcement was.

They probably just worded it to sound like he downloaded that app.
