Back in March I was visiting with the Zune team for the Microsoft Global MVP Summit, and they gave the MVPs some take-away swag items. I figured I'd pass it along to one lucky reader of Zune Thoughts. The photo above shows what you'll get: a Manhattan Portage shoulder bag, customized with the Zune logo and the "hello from seattle" phrase; a limited-edition grey Zune t-shirt (size large), and a copy of Lost Ones, the Zune-comissioned graphic novel.

So what do you have to do to win? Post a message in this discussion thread telling me one of your favourite songs that's loaded on your Zune right now. What are you grooving out to? What gets your foot tapping? One post (one entry) per person, and the winner will be randomly selected. The contest closes on Monday the 4th of May at 12pm (GMT -7). Yes, that's a longer time line than most of our contests - I wanted to give everyone an opportunity to enter this contest. Photos of each individual item are after the break. <MORE />

I would have to say "Bleed it Out" by Linkin Park. That song just gets me movin'. For those people who dislike Linkin Park, I would also say "My Curse" by Killswitch Engage, as it always seems to come on when I am running...

For me it would have to be "Ghost of the Navigator" from Iron Maiden's Brave New World album (2000), or anything off of Firewind's 5 albums (Between Heaven and Hell, Burning Earth, Forged By Fire, Allegiance, The Premonition (2002-2008))...

Can you really nail it down to just 1? If I must it would be:
Money for That by Shiny Toy Guns.
But geez... I have 30GB of tunes... picking just one seems a crime.

I'm a huge fan of random playback so I'm hardly ever deliberatly listening to anything, but anytime anything comes up from Blonde Redhead's "23" album or Bat for Lashes' "Fur and Gold," I'm pretty happy.

Im REALLY enjoying Coheed and Cambria's cover of "I Shall Be Released" by Bob Dylan. The copy im addicted to was played live at Neverender New York. Neverender was Four nights, four locations, one album a night played to its entirety. On night four they had Warren Haynes as a special guest guitar, and he's awesome!

I keep playing Utada Hikaru's "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence - FYI". It's my fave song from her 2nd English album. Sometimes the lyrics don't make sense but I love the melody :)

My bestest band is "Everclear". But my fave song from Everclear is prolly "Portland Rain" for reasons I will not get into here... :)
So, I shuffle my Zune library and smile everytime it comes up - which is not too often because I have over 3,500 songs on my player.

I recently found a new band called The Airborne Toxic Event. I've had "Sometime Around Midnight" playing on my Zune almost everyday, it's seriously an amazingly written song and suggest for you to at least check it out. Oh, and awesome shirt!

My favourite song loaded on myZune right now is "Must Be Love" by Cassie ft. P. Diddy. Yeah, I know she's short on actual talent but the song is relevant and intoxicating.

The song causing me to rock out would have to be Computer Eyes by Ayreon. Of course, the rest of Arjen Lucassen's material tries to steal my attention, as does Serenity's, and Firewind, and Angel Dust, well, this could go on for a while...............

My favorite has to be "My Guitar Gently Weeps" played by Eric Clapton and Paul Mc Cartney on the "Concert for George" album. The track that gets me moving it "Calypso Cafe" by the Rippingtons.

I have been listening to a lot of Johnny Cash. When I am mowing the lawn, I need something a little louder so I put on Green Day American Idiot.
To be honest, I don't recognize 3/4 of the songs listed here.

I would have Careless Whisper by Seether, but it's an album only buy, so I can't even use a song credit to get it, and it's not MP3. So, I'd rather go buy the CD and rip it to MP3 myself. Great cover of that song though.
So, that leaves me with Alkaline Trio, since I'll be seeing them in less than a month.
To be honest, I don't recognize 3/4 of the songs listed here.

I'm with others as I can't really point to one artist or song..it's like picking children. I've recently embraced(and bought) the subscription. I had been hesitant for the year I had my 80GB. I had lost it and replaced it with a 120gb. The combo of owning such a huge HD and killing my XM subscription left me ready to "rent" music. I didn't think I would like it as much as I do...I love it. I download..so...much..music now. My 120 HD is almost full...YIKES!

For the last month or so I've played stuff from the Leningrad Cowboys almost constantly. They are (were) wierd, funny and catchy. Hard to pick a favorite amongst so many good ones but in terms of most times played I'd go with Delilah (best song ever about a murder) over Sweet Home Alabama. Both from their live with the Red Army Ensemble concert album and featuring the always amusing sense that the Red Army choir has no idea what they are singing about but they are giving it their all anyway. :D
The LCs always brighten my ride home! Too bad so little of their stuff is available on the Zune Marketplace. I ripped my own CDs to my Zune. But their concert videos are on Youtube of course.

I too, play all on shuffle most of the time - with >13,000 songs, there aren't many repeats, but anything by the late IZ is time to slow down and listen, particularly Hawaii "78.

I’m been loving the new Marianne Faithfull album Easy Come, Easy Go and especially her cover of “Down From Dover.” Her interpretation of the song with such emotion, kicks the whole album off a great jolt of power that she maintains till the end. I recommend it to anyone who has underestimated Faithfull or Dolly Pardon in the past.

Foo Fighters-Everlong is probably my favorite "anytime" song. I can always listen to that tune, no matter what mood I am in. Such a great song. Close second would be, also from Foo Fighters (sort of), is Baker Street, an amazing cover.

The '59 Sound by the Gaslight Anthem is one of my favorites on the Zune right now; great Springsteen-esque rock from another Jersey band.
For me, it's "The Artist" by the Hush Sound, but the upbeat song of the moment is definitely "Ichirin Hana" by Sambomaster.
