The idea is simple: you enter a list of domains that you want to block yourself from visiting, set the amount of time those sites should remain inaccessible, and press ‘Start.' Whether your poison is a particular Web site or an e-mail account that you must check every minute, SelfControl can help (you can block Web sites and mail servers)."

I'm pretty sure I am not going to install this program on my MBP. I suppose if I just couldn't tear myself away from visiting eBay or Amazon.com every 5 or 10 minutes, then I might consider it, but it really does lock your system down. You have to wait for the timer to expire, and shutting down the program or restarting your computer won't reset it. You just have to gut it out and wait. I think I will work on my self control on my own. I'm almost there anyway, I've controlled my Diet Coke habit, sort of. Ok not really, but that is another story. If you think you need it, it is a free download.
