<p><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/resizer/thumbs/size/600/at/auto/1237379599.usr18053.jpg" style="border: 1px solid #d2d2bb;" /></p><p>Johnson and Johnson was on hand to demonstrate the new connectivity between applications and third party accessories.&nbsp; They demonstrated a LifeScan glucose meter that could communicate readings with the iPhone and, for diabetic children with iPhones, text that reading to parents so that they could keep an eye on their kids and their readings.&nbsp; Of course, the big story here is that connectivity like this will open the door to the Nike Plus making its debut on the iPhone soon, much to the joy and welcoming arms of many people who love their Nike Plus.&nbsp; I can only imagine the kind of apps that will take advantage of this connectivity, but if what Johnson and Johnson has come up with is any indication, it's going to be pretty awesome.</p><p>We'll have much more coverage of the new software tomorrow, so stay tuned.&nbsp; There's so much to talk about that it didn't make sense to just cram it all into one big gigantic post and dump it all out there today.</p>

The funny thing is that Nike Plus uses Bluetooth to communicate with the shoe sensor (which is why the iPod Touch 2G will have the Bluetooth capability to do peer-to-peer), so the iPhone should have been able to Nike Plus already, without a dongle.

As a Type I Juvenile Diabetic who uses WM software to manage blood glucose and insulin dosages, this solution is exactly what I have been wanting for years now. Too bad a viable consumer solution is not available for WM devices.
