I agree!

One thing about my Windows Mobile Lame Edition phone (oops, make that Standard edition) that is so, well, lame is that YOU CANNOT SEARCH THE CALENDAR! So, if I want to know when my next dentist appointment is, I NEED TO GUESS AND MANUALLY STEP THROUGH IT!

(Forgive the caps, but for an OS that has been around for so long, this is so completely brain dead . . .)

My Verizon contract is through in December. 9 months to go . . .

At least based on the new features highlighted in the talk, this is the most useful. I still think that palm's version that just requires that you start typing is a bit more convenient. This is going to be a multi-step process. Unlock. If not on launcher, click middle button to go back to launcher. Likely click it again to get to the first launcher screen. Wipe right. Wait for keyboard. Type. Select. Don't get me wrong, it is a good addition, but it won't be nearly as quick and natural as the same concept was on the treo (or from the looks of it, will be on the pre).

Oh, were your sources right on the features that would shut up the critics? Neither of my big gripes were addressed (shared storage and multi-tasking). So, here's one critic that ain't shutting up. :)

My guy got quite a bit right that I had forgotten about and he got only one thing wrong (he said Push was going to be delayed quite a bit). Overall, he did really well.

And most critics can shut up now. Some have more stringent standards for shutting up but we love you, er, them just the same! :p
