Congratulations! Your iPhone life is about to improve in so many ways. Be sure to follow our Jailbreak series to get the most out of jailbreaking your iPhone."</em></p><p><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/resizer/thumbs/size/600/at/auto/1236801338.usr105634.jpg" /></p><p>If you want to be a jailbreaker, this isn't bad information to at least read through. I'm not brave enough to do it to mine, or even mess with my Apple TV (I have been called a <a href="http://forums.thoughtsmedia.com/f386/boxee-releases-bleeding-edge-update-92876.html#post704088" target="_blank">coward</a> about it too!). I know, all in good fun :-). And while I may get up the courage to do it to my Apple TV, don't think I will go there with my iPhone, I count on it pretty much every day and don't want to take the chance on messing it up. Besides, I have all my applications moved around just where I want them!</p>

I have jailbroken my iPhone in the past. I put it back to normal, though, after the App store came along. I see little reason to do it now (other than the ability to neuter Apple's kill switch).

My AppleTV, on the other hand, is fully modded. I like Boxee's interface way better than the default AppleTV interface. I also like the ability to add secondary storage via a USB hard drive, and the ability to use just about any type of movie file.

I jailbroke. But only so that I could use the iPhone I got off of eBay with Rogers without having to sign a three-year contract. Stupid carrier locking.

Other than obtaining the ability to use an iPhone with any GSM carrier, I see no reason to jailbreak.

I think you have convinced me to give it a go Joe, regarding the Apple TV that is :)

I jailbroke but reverted after my iPhone slowed down noticeably, even though I hadn't installed any additional (jailbreak) apps. Once I reverted, it sped up again.

Any of you guys have that issue?

I didn't notice any speed difference in my jailbroken iPhone versus non-jailbroken iPhone, but I didn't have it jailbroken for more than a month or so.

I probably would have given in to buying an iPhone if it wasn't for the whole carrier thing. Best Buy was having a $100 off sale for them, but it wasn't worth losing my 25% business discount with AT&T. That would be $15 a month more out of my pocket, which far outweighs the $100 I would have saved over two years.
