I have my Xbox 360 connected to a 4:3 17" CRT monitor with a VGA cable.
I run it at 1024x768, and it looks great, you just have to sit close. Not bad for a free monitor and a $20 cable! I can't even play on SDTVs anymore, the scanlines make my eyes hurt.
I am having a problem with the aspect ratio, however.
Halo 2 (Original Xbox game) fills the screen, but the image is squished. Setting the resolution to 640x480 solves the problem.
MotoGP '07 and Gears of War 2 both have black bars on the top and bottom of the screen. I haven't tried the 640x480 fix.
Halo 3, The Orange Box, Halo (Original Xbox game) and all Dashboard features display correctly.
The aspect ratio is set correctly, and my Xbox 360 is fully up to date. Anyone else seen problems like this?
