Did I miss a previous Touch Diamond ROM update or did they make more changes in this update than were mentioned on the download page? Among other things, they seem to have fixed three of the things that annoyed me most about this phone:

- Calls accidentally answered/rejected while picking the phone up. Calls are now answered using a left/right slider to select answer/busy, so now I can't accidentally answer/reject calls while picking the phone up.

- Multiple touches to dismiss or snooze daily alarms. When a daily alarm went off before, the notification never appeared in the foreground and you had to touch the notification icon on the task bar, select the big alarm icon, then touch either snooze and a snooze time, or dismiss. Not what you want when you've just been woken up and don't have your glasses on! The notification now comes immediately to the foreground so you can instantly dismiss or snooze the alarm with at most 2 touches.

- Delays when hanging up. When ending calls before, sometimes I'd end up pressing the button a few times as there was no immediate (noticable) feedback to say the call had actually been ended. When I hang up now, it happens almost immediately.

I noticed a few other changes too, like the addition of a "Forward" option to the SMS menu and a more compact phone keypad SIP. A highly recommended ROM update!

I also installed Diamond TF3D Config (as mentioned in the ClintonFitch article posted 11-APR-09) and applied the performance registry tweaks with it. What a difference - combined with the ROM update, it's now the phone it always should have been!
