This also adds a nifty icon in the system tray to signal a sync in progress. I installed this yesterday and it's a big improvement. Love the sync icon as now you can actually tell when it's synchronizing (previously you had to right-click to bring up the context menu and if "Sync Now" was grayed out then you knew it was currently synchronizing). I did a lot of testing (incidentally I was modifying almost 100 contacts in Outlook on my main PC) and changes appeared on my iPhone in about 30 seconds from pressing Save on the PC- that's more than good enough for me.

What I'm really excited about today though is Foxmarks- I have MobileMe sync my Safari bookmarks but honestly I prefer to use Firefox on both PC and Mac and they're not supported. But I'm hoping Foxmarks will tie them together for me.

Hey let us know if it does work syncing with Firefox and Safari. The only reason I use Safari is because it syncs with my iPhone. I prefer Firefox so if I can get those bookmarks to sync with Safari then I would be happy camper :-).

It sure as heck works great! The only issue I had was the Foxmarks decided to alphabetize my bookmarks at some point, but that was pretty minor.

It does work. I started off syncing Firefox on 2 PCs and then on my 1 Mac. (Each time I exported my bookmarks on each machine before and after merging as a safeguard.) Then I added Safari sync on my Mac. As soon as I did that, MobileMe pushed the Safari bookmark changes to my iPhone and Safari on my 2 PCs (giving me the usual MobileMe overwrite warning on the PCs due to the massive one-time changes).

To be safe, I would make sure to only use Foxmarks for Safari on 1 machine. That should be all you need as MobileMe will handle pushing the bookmarks to Safari on your other machines.

If I had known about Foxmarks earlier, I could have saved myself a lot of hassle syncing my Firefox bookmarks on all my machines. Now it's even better as I can keep Safari (and via MobileMe my iPhone) in sync as well as Internet Explorer (although I'm not sure I care about that since I hardly ever use it).

This just made MobileMe that much more valuable. The bookmarks sync thing didn't do much for me since I primarily surf in Firefox - now I'm finally in sync.
