And download numbers appear to be going along with it, hitting <a href="http://forums.thoughtsmedia.com/f387/500-million-apps-downloaded-92219.html" target="_blank">500,000,000</a>&nbsp;mark about a month ago. &nbsp;It doesn't hurt that Apple appears to make it pretty easy to write applications for the iPhone/iPod Touch, and the approval process appears to go smoothly for most of the companies.&nbsp;</p>
