These ads, entitled Fix and Read, are much like the typical ads in that they only contain the iPhone and that perfect hand. However, they are a little different in what they discuss."</p><p><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/resizer/thumbs/size/600/at/auto/1233189867.usr105634.jpg" /></p><p>The <a href="http://www.apple.com/iphone/gallery/ads/" target="_blank">ads</a> go at it from a different angle, focusing on tasks instead of single applications. I think I prefer these ads, so I can see what the iPhone is capable of doing. For instance in the Fix ad, they show an app called "<a href="http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=287219655&amp;mt=8" target="_blank">MultiLevel</a>", which functions much like a bubble level using your iPhone on its side or face up. The task-oriented ads sound like some of the original commercials. The one about finding the seafood restaurant in San Francisco and calling it comes to mind.

I also like the application ads. I know I'd like some of those on Windows Mobile (especially Shazam, the music identification service).

Apple's ads have always been pretty good, though. Even though I use a PC, I always stop to watch new Mac vs. PC ads, and the ads with people talking about how Macs worked well (maybe the "Think Different" campaign?) were pretty good, too.

Ads schmads! Hmm.... ok, very good, but to be a real business tool the iPhone needs to incorporate synchronized To Do's and Notes. How about Copy and Paste? Are we missing something here?
