The only use I can see for it would be someplace to put it when you are at home and not using your laptop. It looks pretty nice and would keep it safe from falling objects. I saw this at another website and couldn't find a price for it. I wonder what it costs.

It's elegant and it's "purdy". It looks like a really nice piece of workmanship. It's a fashion statement. It doesn't look like a laptop case so you won't get banged over the head for it.

Okay, I admit it, I can't really figure out why one would get it either.

IIRC the web site says to contact the artist for pricing. You can bet it ain't cheap!

It is a handsome case, and I suppose if you were dressing up for halloween as a caveman it would make the perfect accessory :-).

Or if you walk the dark streets very often and don't want to carry a gun or pepper spray, you can always use this as a defensive weapon. Sort of.
