I’ve published several articles on the Filesys.exe compaction problems. At first, I had the time to release (manually) custom-patched throttler apps for people requesting them in e-mails. (Sorry for all the folks that I simply didn’t have the time for. I’ve been very-very busy lately – not that I’d complain: given the current economic situation, it’s great to have any kind of a (decent) job.)

Some months ago, XDA-Devs forum member “cook” has written a quick patcher app that does this (semi-)automatically. You can find the patcher (as an attachment HERE (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2251594&postcount=800). (Note that downloading the file requires free registration!)

Can you provide an explanation of the problem (or links to your previous articles)?

Is this why my iPAQ hx2795 seems so slow after a soft reset? I literally have to wait minutes for the UI to become responsive.

Thanks. So, if I followed this correctly, it doesn't apply to me as my iPAQ hx2795 is a native WM 5 Pocket PC, right? Does it matter if I have a 2 GB SD card and an 8 GB Compact Flash card?

Maybe it's time for a hard (er, clean) reset and reinstall. :(

Yup, the 2795 is natively WM5.

Nevertheless, you might want to install acbTaskMan to see what it really does after booting in.
