Has anyone out there with a Netflix account given this baby a whirl yet?

Yes, a few weeks ago, when they started it for beta users. It works very well in both Safari and FF; you do need Silverlight installed. It works fine. It's not HD, but I think good enough for watching on a Mac. The catalog is a bit on the light side, though there are TV shows that update pretty quickly.

I got a trial Netflix account last month as soon as they opened up the Beta to OSX.

The quality isn't exceptional, but it's decent (about on par with other streaming sites like hulu). The interface is quite good and the price is reasonable: with the $9/month model, we've been getting 2 DVDs per week plus unlimited online viewing. The streaming library isn't enormous, but we've found plenty of stuff worth watching.

I used to rent from Red Box, but it was really only good for new releases while Netflix has everything. Highly recommended.
