I have an iPAQ 2210 running under WM 2003. When I use the Explore tool in ActiveSync 4.5.0 there is no longer an entry for 'My Mobile Device'.

Yet I can still explore it using an old shortcut I have on my Desktop.

Anyone know what may be happening here please? I'm pretty sure it will return if I re-install AS, as it was present immediately after I did so last time. But why is it disappearing?

I've just discovered that I've incorrectly described the problem. In fact I do have access to My Mobile Device. But when I first open AS > Explore what I get is Local Disk C: and all its contents. I can then go up the tree 2 levels to Desktop, and in that list I see Mobile Device, which I can then d-click to open. But next time I use AS > Explore I once again get the contents of C: displayed, not Mobile Device.

I'm 99% sure that never used to be the case. After all, why would anyone want by default to explore C from AS?

What happens when other users of AS 4.5 use Explore please?

Any way to change the default? I've gone through the Win XP registry searching all the many entries containing 'ActiveSync' and found nothing relevant.
