I wonder if this is a sign of the Zune 4 fading away, with the Zune 8 becoming the new entry-level Zune and a 16 GB Zune becoming the new high-end Zune? This is just me doing some wishful thinking of course...</p>

Has BestBuy in America ever had a trade-in based promotion? My wife would love to upgrade from her last generation Nano.

I'm not sure, I don't follow BestBuy.com that closely...

I would imagine the reason they haven't released a Zune16 yet is because they're saving that capacity for a new touch-screen/higher end model. Microsoft has at this point shown that they want to differentiate the players mainly by storage size, and if they were to release a 16 GB version of the Zune4/8, they would have to come up with a different naming system for the new high-end player/next generation Zune.

Heh. You and I wish! :D I really hope they do a touch-screen player, although I'd be just as happy with a non-touch screen player that just had a bigger, higher-resolution screen (WVGA at minimum).
