I've been using this language for development for awhile now and I have just two comments... the support is unbelievable!... the language is wonderful for mobile device development!... I can't wait for version 2.0 to release!

... the language is wonderful for mobile device development!...
I took a brief look at the web site. The GUI and the fact that you can develop on the device look extremely compelling to me. But the idea of yet another programming language is a huge turnoff to me.

I didn't see any links to describe the language itself or why a new syntax was used instead of a "standard". Can you shed some light on the advantages?

I often prototype UI and program flows for mobile applications using Visual Studio. I would love to have something that works well on the device and provides a "professional" looking UI for demos. But I'm pushing 50 and just don't have the time or desire to learn a new (and likely proprietary) language just for that purpose. Of course, I understand that this just might not be the right product for my needs, but I'm hoping to hear from someone that has experience with this product and also Visual Studio to understand it better.

Thanks!

Syntax is simple... I program C# at work... PPL is more like a cross between C and BASIC... there are ready made libraries for phone functions, sprites (with true alpha blending), animation, sound... It is object oriented and easy to read... you can program on the Pocket PC or main workstation and then transfer your work to Pocket PC/Phone

PPL excels in that it lets you get the job done fast without alot of relearning.

Thanks, but I guess I still don't understand why they needed to re-invent the wheel with a new language vs. using C, C++. C# or BASIC.

I get frustrated enough with all the differences between programming for the desktop vs. Windows Mobile, but perhaps it's because I don't do either on a regular basis.

In any case, I appreciate your insight.
