I have been using Pandora or Last.fm so far. However, this mainly works with artists signed up with major labels. StumbleAudio connects you with a number of independent artists as well. The web service uses a music recommendation image engine much like the other sites. But all of the artists are independent acts, which means they're either unsigned or signed to smaller labels. Also, it is really easy to try and see how the service works, and it seemed to do a pretty good job. I tried 'U2' and got several artists that I had never heard of before but sounded quite nice.
