Unlike the originals, the stylish new models feature contrasting white fronts with color-coordinated keys and fancy designs on the back -- perfect for that fashion-conscious Windows Mobile nerd in your life (if that's not an oxymoron, we don't know what is). Collect the whole set now for $99.99 a pop on contract."</em></p><p><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/resizer/thumbs/size/600/zt/auto/1216666973.usr8.jpg" border="0" /></p><p>These new handsets look pretty slick. Whole Jerry and I knew it was only a matter of time before another pink Windows Mobile Smartphone was released in the wild, we thought the colprit would be Motorola and not Samsung. I have to admit though the designs are pretty top notch and it is incredibly refreshing to see something new in the design instead of a plan ol' boring color. Hopefully the new designs are not done in the super plastic-looking glossy casing as the original Samsung Blackjack which was a huge turn off for me.</p>

Yeah, that's the #1 thing I dislike about the Samsung Jack (aka Blackjack II) that I have now: that glossy coating picks up on EVERYTHING. :(

Tell me about it. I was playing with one earlier today in an AT&T store (upgrade time!) but I opted out of getting it since it is a giant smudge magnet. Just picking the device up and putting it down, less than 30 seconds of handling time, and it was all smudgy and just looked filthy. My cringe-o-meter was on full blast. Needless to say, I didn't get one. :o

Did you try out the new colors? I have had the pink one for about a week now (they weren't advertised in the store I went to yesterday to upgrade my texting plan but they did have them in stock) and people have been asking me where I got it and are shocked when I say "the at&t store?" and we look at eachother like the other is crazy...then I found out they only just announced the colors yesterday or something.

Definitely not the high glossy. So no smudges on the back. Which is good because these are too pretty to put a case on. The front white side has a bit of a sheen to it and if smudges were your only concern before, consider them gone now.

How much can I say I love this phone? I just hope it stands through time but currently I can watch tv, talk on msn, hold crystal clear conversations, surf the net all for hours and hours and not lose a single bar of battery life. Of course, this should be the same as the other blackjack ii. This one is just prettier and less smudge friendly.

Another happy note: I've dropped the thing 4 times. Not a scratch.

Anyways if the smudge happy coatings were the only things keeping you from this, these new colors definitely fix that.

Thanks for the detailed report, it's great to hear from someone that has one of these new designs. :)

Okay so maybe I'm still a little too overexcited but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE PHONE! hahaha. :( no I'm not a 16 year old girl :(

I just discovered to voice activated gps on the thing. My sister has the blackberry pearl and jack ii totally beats the thing out of the water! it helps that it's a 3g phone while the pearl is an edge phone. :p

Obviously this is my first smartphone. lol. I seriously think it's a little...too smart for me. Like it'll eat me when I sleep.

For the other people on this thread who have one, is the phone standing through the test of time? That is my only real concern now. Bad experiences with samsung phones in the past almost made me not get this phone.
