Some of you may have noticed I have not been posting much lately. Unfortunately I have not had the time I used to. I have been on Smartphone Thoughts for 5 years now and what an incredible 5 years they have been. I registered for this site 3 days after Jason started it back in 2003. There weren't many Smartphones to speak of back then. My very first one was the Samsung i600 on Verizon. It was a beautiful well made clam shell that ran WM 2.0. Primitive compared to what is available today but I still remember it fondly. On the other end of the scale, the low if you will, was the Motorola MPx220. I think I spent more time ranting about that phone than any other here. I have lost track of how many Smartphones ( I refuse to call them WM Standard devices ) I have owned since. I will still post an occasional rant when something gets my blood pressure up high enough. I just won't be posting daily news anymore. With the great bunch of contributors here there will be no shortage of good and interesting reads. So this isn't really a goodbye. It is just a little change.

How sad, I actually remember my MPx220 with fond memories. Aside from the lack of 3G and Qwerty keyboard, it was a decent smartphone (at least once it was upgraded with the latest Chinese firmware).

Not that I don't love my Q9 Global, but my MPx220 was a decent phone at the time.

Good times.

Side question of insignificant importance, but....Why does your "join date" near your picture have August 2006 date on it when you clearly have been here longer? Same date and question for Ed Hansberry. Two of the most prolific posters like yourselves certainly joined before I did.

Oh, that's a direct result of merging the sites. Most people had different join dates on the different sites. I don't know how they determined which one to use, but alas, that's how the date's came to be. ;)

Hey Jerry,

I'm sorry to hear that - I've always enjoyed your posts (rants or otherwise). It's crazy how life can get the better of us at times, eh?

I wonder what ever happened to "Santa Fe" he was one of our original members and he posted a fair amount - from his horse too, if I recall. We've sure done a lot of the years. Be sure to keep in touch.

We're all going to miss you Jerry (even though you aren't really going anywhere) but now I have one less person to make fun of the MPx220 with. :(

So that means you have to come around often!
