Recently found this video about data portability - it's a technology built from open standards like OpenID, OPLM, microformats, RSS etc. that says it can bring the best comfort to the online experience by ditching the need to remember tens of credentials and details for the online accounts we have here and there.

Data Portability is the option to use your personal data between trusted applications and vendors. (http://dataportability.org/)DataPortability gathers existing open standards into a blueprint for a social, open, remixable web where your online identity, media, contacts and content can follow you wherever you go.
