View Full Version : Why am I not enjoying my IPAQ 210 so much?

I had my IPAQ for a good 2 months so far and have probably had to do around 20 or so hard resets. I do miss the days when my Axim's worked flawlessly and I curse the day when Pocket PCs went converged. I was wondering if anyone else is having problems too...where to begin? Every piece of Spb software I have either purchased has either bogged or corrupted my Pocket PC, only programs that work consistently have been PI8 and IE...Flexmail crashes my system and so does Opera. I don't know what to expect and I am finding Newsreaders to be a bear too. The stand alone Pocket PC has met my needs for years...but I get the feeling this will be the last one. I wonder if I should of bought a notebook or a mini notebook for what I paid for the IPAQ. I hear Dell is looking at reintroducing a Pocket device...most likely a converged one. Anyone have a take on this?

Have you checked to see in any ROM updates are available? That is an awful lot of issues and if not ROM related then I wonder about just flat bad hardware (warranty?)

I've only had my 210 for about a month now, but it's running flawlessly for me. No hard-resets at all and just a few soft-resets as suggested by installation programs. I don't use any Spb software at this point, but I am running Opera and it's not causing any problems.

I'd place some credibility on the bad hardware theory and chat with HP about possibly exercising your warranty.
