Actually, if you caught our video demo of the MSN Direct service for WinMo, this will look familiar. The same tiled approach applies to the new Home screen: there are panels for each category and you can scroll left and right for data in each category. It's probably easier to understand with the above video from the Windows Experience blog, but I like what I see so far: quick and easy access to the information you need the most.&quot;</em><br /><br /><a style="left: -455px ! important; top: -552px ! important;" title="Click here to block this object with Adblock Plus" class="abp-objtab-06663332238036644 visible" href="http://images.video.msn.com/flash/soapbox1_1.swf"></a><a href="http://images.video.msn.com/flash/soapbox1_1.swf" class="abp-objtab-06663332238036644 visible ontop" title="Click here to block this object with Adblock Plus" style="left: -455px ! important; top: -782px ! important;"></a><embed width="432" height="364" src="http://images.video.msn.com/flash/soapbox1_1.swf" quality="high" base="http://images.video.msn.com/" name="msn_soapbox" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" pluginspage="http://macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" flashvars="c=v&amp;v=32399c2b-866b-4dc3-868e-f18de0efd390&amp;ifs=true&amp;fr=shared&amp;mkt=en-US"></embed><br /><em><font size="1"><a href="http://soapbox.msn.com/video.aspx?from=shared&amp;showPlaylist=true&amp;playlist=videoByUuids:uuids:32399c2b-866b-4dc3-868e-f18de0efd390" target="_new" title="Demo: Windows Mobile 6.1 Home Screen">[Video: Demo: Windows Mobile 6.1 Home Screen]</a></font></em><br /><br /><br />Kevin Tofel from jkOnTheRun has brought us another cool video of the Windows Mobile 6.1 homescreen in action on a Samsung Blackjack II. The video is short, but still pretty cool and the camera quality is really good as well. If you haven't had a chance to play with the <a href="http://smartphonethoughts.com/news/show/88410/microsoft-releases-windows-mobile-6-1-localized-emulator-images.html">Windows Mobile 6.1 emulator</a> and are dying to see what the new homescreen looks like in action, now is your chance!

While the new homescreen has an awesome look and feel to it, which is 3D and modern, the rest of the user interface (ie the task manager, mobile outlook, etc.) is still "flat" and boring. Why people at Microsoft never learn from Apple or even Nokia is beyond me

Keep in mind this is an interim release of Windows Mobile so we have something to keep us busy until Microsoft releases Windows Mobile 7 or Photon or whatever they're calling it this week. With any luck, the next version of Windows Mobile will hopefully be all prettied up like using Windows XP after years of using Windows 98. :)

So we're then feeling like using XP after years of using 98 - and iPhone users already feel like using Vista ........
