This would be what? only their third model (standard <i>and</i> pro) to be released in the past year or so. While what they have has all been fairly high-end stuff, Toshiba will need to fill out the product line-up if they want to be more than a bit player in the smartphone market. The G810 will be in the stores in Q2 this year.

When will get the perfect device from Toshiba. This is their first device with Quad band GSM and Tri Band 3G but this time no VGA screen.

Toshiba will never get it. It is way too late and too little (e.g. 4 Gb max memory card?) for them to jump in to this market. My (and many others') memory is still very fresh how Toshiba abandoned us all - their loyal customers - when they fled the market, and how they completely ignored our repeated pleas for continued support.

My response to this news is: You fool me once, shame on you. You fool me twice, shame on me. I will never buy another Toshiba PDA, with or without a phone built-in, because I am not a fool.

how many freaking QVGA do we need???

future perfect device will be Sony X1 so far! small enought to fit in pocket, and with WVGA and quad band 3.5 HSDPA!

I think the "4GB" limit is from marketing. That was probably the largest MicroSDHC card available at that time. My understanding is the MicroSD standard supports up to 2GB. If a devices supports cards larger than 2GB it supports the MicroSDHC standard which means you can get up to an 8GB card right now (that I'm aware of).

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think it's possible (unless for some reason they deliberately introduced a limitation) for a device to support a 4GB MicroSDHC and not a 6GB or 8GB MicroSDHC.

I've seen other similar devices listed with incorrect information about maximum memory card capacities. It would be nice if they would just say the thing supports MicroSDHC.

Seriously I will never buy another QVGA device. Once you've had VGA you can never go back. I guess I'll be holding out for the XPERIA X1.

With the plethora of PDA phones in the market right now, particularly those from HTC and Eten (e.g. I have an Eten X500+ on my belt right now), I fail to see the excitement about an out-of-date and inferior product from a company with a tainted history (at least in the minds of former Toshiba customers).

Exactly. Several months ago I was considering at AT&amp;T Tilt, but just couldn't get past that QVGA screen. I almost caved, but, in the end, I just couldn't go back to QVGA. Its not good for reading eBooks, looking at spreadsheets, multimedia. Just not enough pixels for me.

VGA only.

I just hope my x50v holds up until the right VGA device is available. Sometimes, it just feels like its never going to happen....until XPERIA X1.

I've seen a lot of companies make similar mistakes with mSD card limits. I blame it on fast changing flash sizes and marketing that can't keep up. I don't think we can blame toshiba for that - though they could just say it supports mSDHC.

I will say, Toshiba's support of the e830 that I have was really bad. They never released any bluetooth HID support which I was sort of counting on. They never released new firmware either and they didn't have the solution to a major problem that plagued me the first year or so that I had the thing. I'm still using it but I'm looking forward to replacing it with a new converged device. I ordered my iMate Ultimate 6150 and can't wait!
