http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/finance/?en

Spb Software has released version 2.8 of their popluar Spb Finance software. It now includes full Vista support as well as syncronization with Money Plus, also known as Money 2008.

It requires 2.4MB on your device, either internal or a storage card and supports Pocket PC 2002 and later devices. I believe this is a free upgrade for existing 2.x users, otherwise it is $24.95.

Don't buy this expecting it to work with any recent Quicken product. MS Money gets all the attention. I even upgraded once hoping it would work with my Quicken but it has never been satisfactory. QW 2007 has been out for over a year now and QW 2008 is now being sold. This version, although finally released for use with Vista (already in customer hands for a year) is only certified for QW 2003-2006.

I was a happy use of SPB Finance up to the point where Intuit released 2007. I currently am using 2008. I think that its a superior product to Pocket Quicken (which I'm forced to use currently).

While I understand a company not wanting to give away their competitive advantage by leaking their upcoming features, support for a later version of a product they interface with seems to be a maintenance item.

It concerns me that not only will they give a date as to when support for Quicken 2007 & 2008 will be added, but they refuse to even state that they will add such support. As a customer, this means that for the future I'm wondering if I"ll have to maintain licenses for both SPB Finance and PocketQuicken to ensure that I can keep working.

I tried using Quicken sync with Quicken 2002 and found that it only overwrites the data stored on the device with what is already in Quicken. As a result, entering data on the device is pointless. It's a nice piece of software if the sync actually worked.

I have been using SPB finance 2.7 and Quicken 2007 with XP on desktop and PDA with Win Mobile 5.0 with no problems (I think).
I normally enter data on the desktop and sync data to PDA.
I just did an entry on the PDA and synced to desktop – worked fine.
So what am I doing different? Don’t know…
