I have been an ardent fan of windows mobile pocket pc right from it's birth. i was looking for a large screen ppc phone with data plan internet access. I bought HTC advantage but it was bulky and moreover, microdrive failed and could not be fixed. I bought Xda Flame for all its rich features. But, bluetooth issues with phone put me off. But I use it as my regular pocket pc.

Then frustrated, I went for Iphone. My friends were awe struck! They celebrated (but briefly). I loved the screen. It had several different features I could not adjust to; No search function for contacts, just scroll and no smart dialing  I found it difficult to type with just fingers as I could not complete a web address even once without making at least one mistake. It would not pair with more than bluetooth (car and head set). I had to delete one to pair with another.
No delete button. Weather icon does not allow for local forecast. It was difficult for me to adjust few other reasons. I still liked the screen size and form factor. Multi touch to zoom in and out was great.
But, to make a phone call, I loved the smart dialing feature in WM.

I guess, Iphone is not for everyone as WM ppc phones. So I went for AT&T tilt. It has everything except for screen size for internet access and for reading articles. I hope one day HTC or XDA will make a 3.5' screen ppc phone for me!

I have never been a big fan of the iPod or iPhone. Don't get me wrong the iPhone in its self is a great idea if it works as advertised. I had thought that it might be hard to type in a web address without a stylus. I can do a lot of things on my Hermes without using the stylus but typing in a web address would be nearly impossible.

Bottom line is the iphone is not designed for the hardcore business user. If all you want to do besides make phone call is listen to music & watch movies then it’s a device for you.
