Hi,
I wish to benefit from people's experiences in finding must-have PPC freeware. By that I mean freeware that pretty much makes no sense NOT to have (other than from memory limitations, I guess). For example, IMO Total Commander for PPC is such software, since it does a much better job than File Explorer and is completely free.
I would also add MortPlayer to that list, a great completely free music player. psShutXP is also great. Skype and Google Maps (the PPC software) would also make it to the list.
Is there a list of such software somewhere? And if not, please post replies here on software you find to be a must-have!
So the list so far is
MyMobiler (http://www.mymobiler.com/), lets you control your Pocket PC from your desktop computer with mouse and keyboard.
Total Commander (http://www.ghisler.com/pocketpc.htm), feature-rich replacement for File Explorer
MortButtons (http://www.sto-helit.de/index.php?module=download&action=list&category=14), convenient and good-looking way of creating and customizing arbitrary menus for single-thumb access.
HomeScreen++ (http://handheld.softpedia.com/get/System-Utilities/Enhancements/HomeScreen-Plus-Plus-UI-Edition-63613.shtml), lets you customize several UI elements. I use it for the cute powermeter is can place on the Today screen.
psShutXP (http://ppcsoft.narod.ru/english/), XP-style shutdown / reset / display off button, skinnable
Magic Button (http://www.trancreative.com/mb.aspx), a task manager that really closes applications.
MortPlayer (http://www.freewareppc.com/multimedia/mortplayer.shtml), very feature-rich music player, skinnable
Skype (http://www.skype.com/download/skype/windowsmobile/download.html), the famous voice over IP software
Google Maps (http://www.google.com/gmm/index.html), allows you to use Google Maps without the browser and using your GPS.
Enjoy,
Rodrigo
