My LOOX520 was syncing nicely with ActiveSync on XP, but when I tried it on my new Vista PC things didn't work out.

ActiveSync isn't an option since Vista requires the WMDC which, like AS requires Outlook if you want to sync contacts and calendar. I installed Outlook from Office 2000, and as with XP clicked to agree that it should be the default for email, as demanded by WMDC. Twice each start-up, because in reality I use Windows Mail just as I used Outlook Express on the XP setup, but with Vista WM seems to override.

I frigged an import of Contacts from the PPC to Outlook by moving a wab.dll file to the System32 folder. Suddenly the CSV import file flew home into Outlook, but it wasn't a proper sync, just an import. Meanwhile other files and folders, not dependent on Outlook, sync OK.

I am left with the problem of getting Calendar appointments to appear on Outlook (mail settings are on Corporate or Workgroup, as if for MS Exchange), and syncing Contacts properly.
