The reasons are many, and vary from power consumption through simple bill of materials cost. Like myself, many users probably found perfect wireless LAN coverage at home, office or even hotels and cafes, but still have to go through their cellular data plans to connect to the Internet. While this is not a big deal as in it works, it can be costly while roaming or simply not as fast as Wi-Fi. Spectec has released a series of miniSD Wi-Fi cards that will work on a range of Windows Mobile devices - and even on some devices not in the list as I found out."

Mauricio Freitas has just taken a look at Spectec's SDW-822 miniSD Wi-Fi card. Apart from the expected miniSD compatibility, it turns out this card also works fine and dandy with SD slots, thanks to the good ol' miniSD-to-SD adapter. Interested in finding out more? There still aren't any miniSD storage + Wi-Fi cards out there, are there?

that is just amazing to me. I'd be hard pressed to buy a device without wifi, but it is nice to know if I did, there are options given many don't come with full SD anymore.

MicroSD wifi anyone?

Here's one. (http://www.spectec.com.tw/sdw823.htm) Assuming it similarly works with adapters, this could well be the Wi-Fi card to get for all of your devices.
