View Full Version : Two Important Suggestions for the HTC Atlas

Hi, all - I am a newbie here, so please forgive me if I am putting this in the wrong place. Also, please feel free to move this thread to another location if it is in the wrong place.

I just purchased the HTC Atlas (aka Mogul), and while it is a great device, I have two major concerns about it, and would like to present this to the developers for perhaps improvements on future models.

1) The first thing is: The [ ] and < > and comma (,) keys are extremely difficult to use. I participate on message boards (like this one) a great deal, and it is necessary to type these characters A LOT. Additionally, the comma key is difficult to use.

You need to make these keys appear on the regular keyboard, and in the case of the comma, you need to make it so that it can be quickly tapped without having to hit the ALT key.

It is extremely difficult to be typing on the keyboard, then suddenly stop to hit the virtual keyboard key, find and type the < key, then a few letters, then stop and open the virtual keyboard, type the > key, then < then type some more on the keyboard, then back to the virtual keyboard to type a < b > or [ b ] then back to the regular keyboard, etc. I cannot stress enough that the < > [ ] and comma keys need to be on the regular keyboard, and usable without needing to press the alt key or vitual keyboard or whatever.

2) The second thing is more of a suggestion than a complaint. I would tremendously like to see an AUTO-CORRECT feature implemented. [I just "updated" from the Sidekick/Hiptop and it has such a feature.] Basically, the auto-correct automatically corrects typos as we type. For example, changing "hte" to "the" or "Mexico" to "México".

But more importantly than correcting typos, I like using the Auto-Correct feature to quickly "paste" a series of words which I tend to use over and over all the time.

For instance, I use HTML a lot, and it is so convenient to set up an auto-correct so that "t@" becomes table and td codes ...or whatever. The same applies for message board codes.

Thank you.
