This item is a brand new Toshiba Hard Drive and will work in ALL iPod Video units & Microsoft Zune Players. Model number may vary slightly from the picture below, but is an accurate representation of the drive. Toshiba 100GB MK1011GAH Hard Drive for 5th Gen iPod w/ Video & Microsoft Zune Players...This does require a larger backing for the iPod if you are upgrading a 30GB to a 100GB. Zune players do not need a larger backing."</em><br /><br /><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/zt/2007/ipodmods-100gbhd-jasondunn-april19.jpg" alt="" /><br /><br />It will cost you $299 to get this <a href="http://www.ipodmods.com/shop/3018-hard-drive-disk-mk1011gah.html" target="_blank">100 GB upgrade</a>, but you'll also get a <a href="http://www.ipodmods.com/shop/3003-microsoft-zune-extended-battery.html" target="_blank">Zune Extended Battery</a> ($19.99 USD value) that will give you an extra 6% battery boost (apparently, enough for 30 to 60 minutes of extra music). There's definitely something appealing about getting a hard drive put in my Zune that would store all of my music (75 GB right now) and still have enough space left over for a bunch of video content. Once the Zune software can sync DVR-MS files (Media Center recording format), I'll definitely want a bigger hard drive.

For DVR-MS support try Zune TV watcher. I paid for programs to do this, but this one works so much better. It converts programs in the background to WMV and all you have to do is set up a playlist.
I always have the last month worth of TV on my zune.

iPodMods.com is SUCH a rip off.
You can get the EXACT SAME HARD DRIVE from various other sites for a fraction of the cost. I remember seeing the same 100gb hard drive for $209 on a different site.
www.froogle.com and search for MK1011GAH

Right, but they're also charging for the installation - not everyone (and I include myself here) is comfortable cracking open their Zune.

Does the RapidRepair (IpodMod) version include the firmware upgrade utility on the upgrade drive itself - or is something relatively easy to accomplish with a stock (non-rapid repair) drive? Anyone actually installed a non Rapid Repair drive?
Thanks! Bob
Also, good luck trying to find one of those drives currently at one of the discount sites - they all seem to be out of stock. If someone knows where they have them in stock, please post.
