If you're interested in sharing your GPS location with your GPS-enabled friends, this may be worth your time. As always, let us know if you've managed to give this a spin yourself.

Um... Or you can use the much more reliable old fashioned way

* SMS from you: "Where are you?"
* SMS from your friend: "I'm in line in front of the Acropolis at the Washington DC Union Station Lower Level Food Court trying to get myself a souvlaki platter before they close!!!"

and be done in 1 min max.

Yeah, but this requires no user intervention. You can find a phone even without help, just by knowing the code. It's pretty cool.

The app is priced right, but I'd complain about the $0.30 SMS charge for each time you use it. A phone call is cheaper. (I do however appreciate the geekiness of it.)

What do you mean "no user intervention"? You have to run the software that sends an SMS to initiate things. And the trade off for your friend not telling you his location is the extra work of you having to look it up in Google Map. Provided that you have a data plan on your PPC and the extra data cost. If you don't, good luck!!!

This is the same kind of software that tells you if it is day time or night time based on the PPC's clock. Genius!!! Turn your head, look out the window and be done in 3 seconds.

The same thing here, pick up the phone, dial his number and ask him where the hell he is and be done in 10 seconds!!!!

Yep, especially if he's camping somewhere in the wildereness. Besides people not always can or want to answer the phone.

PS Expect an update this week with the support of external GPS.

Just a heads-up that a new version is out and it supports external GPS receivers.
