Really, the only thing I can find wrong with this device is the form-factor (As some are not fans of the sideways slider). Once you get past that, what more could HTC offer in this device to "please all the people"? Now I just hope that once I can get my hands on one of these, they live up to the hype!

And the ridiculously low-res screen. Sorry, but a 2.8" QVGA is inexcusable these days. 3.5" HVGA or better is demanded now that iPhone has reset expectations. HTC and other ODMs are going to face an uphill battle trying peddle obsolete screens.

Wake up, fellas. 1998 called, they want their Pocket PC display back!

I dunno, maybe it's the fact you don't have to carry so many devices in your pocket that you look like a shoplifter?

I have a puck too, and you know what, it's really annoying to use. I have to first enable Bluetooth (I don't always have Bluetooth on since it drains the battery like crazy). I also have to worry about turning everything on in the correct order and pray it gets connected properly, if not, then I have to turn off and on either the Bluetooth on the device or the puck and re-initalize. Lets not even talk about the fact that the connection also breaks when you turn off the pda and turn it back on.

:D Well, since you asked: :D
1. At the least a VGA Screen
2. A front facing number pad like the Samsung i760 is going to provide.
3. 8 GB flash internal Flash Memory

The good thing about the iPhone is that it proves that the things many of us have been asking for out of WM device can be done in a relatively small form factor. It's now time for one of MS's OEMs to step up and deliver on that. The Kaiser comes close, but still does not deliver everything.

I would have to disagree with most of you. This is my dream device.

I had Loox 720 (3.5 VGA) a year ago, until I switch to (2.8 QVGA) imate Jamin. The small screen makes the QVGA looks good; besides, 2.8 inch screen is big enough and allows the device to be small. VGA will consume more battery power and also slow down the device.

I believe the 2.8 inch is now the new standard. VGA on a 2.8 inch will make the character looks way too small.

can you tell me where i can get a desktop that can "carry around" and work in the car?
haha

i rarely use the build-in camera. i perfer to use my Pentex 4.0 megapixels camera with flash and auto focus!

What's so great about it playing mp3s? I already using a ipod for the last 5 years! haha

i still carry a ipod nano and pdaPhone if i want to listen to mp3! y waste the battery from the pdaPhone. what are u going to do if u need to make a emergency call and your phone is dead cus u used up all the battery listening to mp3!

did you just come out from the cave?? this is a bluetooth problem and it only happens with 1st generation bluetooth gps. try the modern day bluetooth GPS like I-Blue GPS. it automally connects to your pdaphone when it detected bluetooth signal! (it only connects to those that have been paired)

Not true. The iPhone has a 3.5" display, but its form factor is just as narrow as any typical Smartphone.

VGA will consume more battery power and also slow down the device.

Again, untrue. If Apple found a way to deliver good overall battery life in a full 3.5" display, so can HTC and other ODMs. Or perhaps Windows Mobile is a power glutton.

In either case, iPhone is proof that you CAN produce a full hi-res screened device with good battery life.

The fact that Windows Mobile ODMs can't deliver on that is their own failing, not that of technology.

Reading all this useless argument... Here's an idea! Why would you need a car for? Use a horse carrege, You can use horses separetly from it, it's ecologicaly save, no CO exhaust, and horse sh.t makes a great Fertilizer. You even may stop a Global Warming!

The buttom line is: there's no perfect device to please everyone! Even celebrated iPhone is not without problems, no mecanical keyboard, no GPS, not many button to push (for those who likes to have all the mecanical buttons, no scroll wheel). But unlike iPhone, WM offer you a number of choices, so choose the one you like the most. If you need GPS, greate connection, keyboard buy a Keiser, if you need GPS,VGA but don't care for keyboard look at Eten X800, if you like to have your pockets stuffed with GPS devices, ipods, PMPs, calculators, and other "important" stuff instead having all-in-one maybe, but big VGA is what you care the most, I-mate Ultimate series will be for you, or consider an Iphone, it is a hot item after all!

Actually horses and other livestock produce Methane which in fact causes global warming. So riding a horse instead of a Harley will do just as much harm to the environment.

Sorry for that rat hole. Now, back to topic.

The amount of methane a horse/livestock produces is minuscule compared to a what a internal combustion engine affects the ecosystem.

You can also burn methane and use as a energy source. Methane is much cleaner than what comes out of a exhaust pipe.

Isn't metane used to heat houses, cook food, etc...

So, you can put a pipe in to the horses bud, and collect it, and make yourself a scrambled eggs! isn't great?!

Oh, yeah, almost forgret -HAHA!

How about a TV out? I use it a lot on my N95, as it makes it easy to show friends and family your videos and pictures on any tv.

LOL at the shoplifter thing :)

Wrong species, Foo. While horses (and people) produce small amounts of methane, the methane you're thinking of is produced by ruminants (animals with four-chambered stomachs) like cattle. Methane is a by-product of the multiple-stage digestion these species use and the sheer number of cattle in the world make it a measurable and important source of greenhouse gas. Horses, pigs and people all have similar digestive systems with single-chambered stomachs and are not a major source of atmospheric methane both because they release much less per animal and because there are less of them. Unlike horses and pigs, however, people more than make up for their lack of methane production with prodigious production of CO2. The bottom line is that riding a horse, while it would have its own local environmental impacts, would not cause as much harm to the environment as a motor vehicle. Of course, it's quite impractical for other reasons.
