Verizon has completed its move to EV-DO Rev. A, while AT&amp;T has increased the speed of its EDGE network"</i><br /><br />Recently I've noticed a slight uptick in T-Mobile's EDGE speeds in the Toledo area (To around 150kbps download). Perhaps upgrading one's network is the "in" thing to do this year... Of course a certain network may be trying to speed up so that individuals can waste time watching Youtube videos :)

The ATT announcement is interesting. If anything, I've noticed a slowdown over the last 10 days or so...

Stupid 8125 and 2-year contract...

Could be the volume of new users in your area. :(

Are you looking to switch from AT&amp;T? If not, can you get a new device and extend your contract? Or, you could always look for an unlocked unit and stick your SIM in it.

Can you get me an unlocked iPhone I can stick my SIM in?

Can you get me an unlocked iPhone I can stick my SIM in? :wink:Lol. But Why? I've been reading the rather mixed reviews and it confirms my earliest suspicions that it is in no way shape or form "revolutionary".

iPhone takes a special SIM that is not interchangeable with normal GSM phones.

I can't upgrade, even with extending my contract, until 18 mos. into it -- which is in OCT. As to switching, I'd love to if I didn't have another 9 mos. on my contract. Only problem is, it seems like Verizon still rolls out crippled versions of new devices, compared to any of the GSM-based carriers.

Actually, I think it will take other AT&amp;T SIMs, but you'll have to "reactivate" the phone after switching.

Yes, Verizon cripples devices, and there's no way around it. Honestly, though, October isn't that far away. All things considered, I'd wait and see what new WM6 devices are coming down the pipeline. One that I'd personally find interesting is a 320x320 Treo.

$50MM is not much to get back. They'll make this back in no time. You think 50mil is significant to companies of this size? Companies with a subscriber base of this size too? nope...
