I have just upgrade to AS version 4.5 from 4.1 - my computer now thinks my ppc is a new device and that it is connected to another pc - additionally when I go to add my applications all the programs are missing from the pc

Can anyone help

If memory serves me correctly, I believe Active Sync uninstalls the older version before installing the 4.5 version. When the uninstall takes place, it asks if you want to delete the profiles associated with it. Is it possible you clicked the "YES" box?

No - i am positive it didnt ask me to delete any profiles and I dont recall it saying anything about removing the older version.
