Can anyone help with choosing the correct device?

I'm looking for a PDA/Smartphone for a first time user that is around AU$800 - AU$1000 (US$680 - US$850). I need the the device to have SIM card capabilities and would prefer touch screen. I've been looking at stores around my local area and thought that the O2 Atom series looks impressive, but i thought i'd ask the pro's for some advice. I always want Windows as the operating software...

Any recommendations are appreciated...

I don't think you can go wrong with the HTC TyTn (Hermes)/O2 XDA Trion/AT&T 8525. I've had mine for over a year now (got it unlocked), and I'm about to upgrade it to WM6. It always gets great reviews, and it should be at the bottom of your price range by now. Check it out if you can!
