Stuck in "align screen"

My Mio is stuck on the align screen page after a hard boot. The unit just goes in circles asking me to press on the target to align the screen - it does not stop after going around the full circle,

Any ideas?

Any ideas?Try removing the screen protector...Sometimes an improperly applied one could affect it. Other than that, it'd be a hardware problem.

Yes, the first thing that did was to remove the screen protector, but it didn't help. I guess I'll have to take in for repairs - thanks.

OK - just to close the issue:

I took it in for repair, and they claimed that there was corrosion from moisture in the unit. (It never got wet - to the best of my knowledge - so I don't understand why this happened). The screen had to be replaced, at a cost of about $200!
