hey i am glad to find a good forum that is very active. i am in need of software for my work. as i am in the air force and every shop is self managed. i am trying to get ahold of some sort of software that is rather simple
you load an excel or .txt list and walk around scanning or typing in product id's and if it is on the list it is ignored/deleted if it is not on the list it is added to a new/the existing list. this way when i am done with my inventory i will have a list of missing items.
i can export the list in to a veriety of formats... but not Ms Access which most software usses.
the best one to use is the .txt list and the excel list, i know nothing about xml but if the software could do that format well it could work.
the whole idea behind this is to reduce waste, time and cost of using paper to inventory it would save 45 sheets of paper a day+ ink
