What sort of issues are you experiencing with your current version?

The green wheel starts to spin and the ActiveSynch is Connecting, but then, NOTHING! The green wheel spins, spins, spins, well you get the idea, 5-10-20 minutes. A log from the IPAQ copied and pasted below. It is the same for two different PC’s, one with XP (SP2) and other running Windows 2000.
I deleted the Mobile Device on the XP computer, but no difference, the green wheel start spinning and Connecting but Nothing More?

Firewalls ARE DISABLED!

The above is with ActiveSynch in the “RNDIS Synch Mode”.
With the ActiveSynch in the “USB Serial Synch Mode”, noting happens.
In both cases “My Computer” does see the device but not the content (the device is empty when opened).

Alongside the disabling of firewalls (and I assume you've included the Windows Firewall too), you'll want to ensure that there aren't other utilities affecting your network settings. Have a look through this guide (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/help/activesync/default.mspx) and ensure that you aren't running anything that monitors or affects the TCP/IP stack.

If that fails, ensure you're running the latest ROM (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=1132545&prodTypeId=215348&prodSeriesId=1132544&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=2067) and related updates. And if that still fails, see if you can obtain a replacement (or a different device) from HP. Sadly, the rx1950 has a terrible track record. You aren't the first person I've come across who just can't get it to sync. :(

my rx1955 was doing the same thing but after a hard reboot all is well, active sync works now. for a hard reboot hold down buttons 1 and 4 and then hit soft reboot hole with stylist, the screen will go black and then windows will reload.
