Direct Push while in cradle?

I got a HTC P3600 and paired it with mail2web for direct push. All works well except when P3600 is connected to a desktop PC via usb cradle, direct push stops working. I checked comm manager and direct push turned greyed out when usb activesync connection was made. Is this normal? Then is there a way to change this behavior so that I can keep get notified while the phone is in cradle? Thanks.

ignar, check your activesync connection settings, specifically "allow usb connections" and "this computer connects to".
